Sembcorp Industries, a prominent energy and urban solutions provider based in Singapore, has announced a significant development regarding its subsidiary, Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company (SSPWC). SSPWC has successfully secured a new 10-year power and water purchase agreement (PWPA) from Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP) in Oman.

The PWPA, set to commence from April 4, 2027, marks a strategic move for Sembcorp, ensuring continued offtake under agreed commercial terms. The agreement specifies a contracted capacity for the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant, encompassing 465MW of power per hour and 15 million imperial gallons (68,190 cu m) of water per day.

Owned, developed, and operated by SSPWC, the Omani plant features a gas-fired combined cycle power plant and a reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant. This contract award not only solidifies the partnership between SSPWC and Nama PWP but also bolsters long-term revenue visibility for Sembcorp while supporting operational sustainability.

With a diverse energy portfolio in Oman exceeding 1.0GW, inclusive of gas and renewable assets, Sembcorp is strategically positioned to advance its growth plans in the sultanate effectively.
