The Council of Ministers in Iraq has given the green light for the conversion of the Qayyarah Gas Power Plant from a simple-cycle setup to a combined-cycle operation. This move is aimed at enhancing the plant's efficiency and output capacity.

As per an announcement from the Prime Minister's Office, the State Company for Northern Electricity Production is now empowered to grant the contract for this conversion project to 'ARGAN INT'. This decision comes after fulfilling all necessary procedural obligations.

The contract mandates that all equipment and parts utilized in this conversion must have their origins in the United States, Europe, Japan, or Canada. This requirement is in place to ensure adherence to stringent international quality benchmarks.
